Need to put together Audio System -

Hey guys,

my stock speakers in my car are dying out, the driver side door speaker doesn't produce any sound at all, and the passenger one has got grainy and cuts out a lot. I want to put together a decent sound system (without spending a lot).

Since i don't know the first thing about car audio, what should i be looking to buy? i guess i want to replace the door speakers, and also put some nice speakers on the rear deck. (6 x 9? i dont even know what size speakers go in my car)

i don't know yet if i want or need subs.

any suggestions would be great, thanks.

go to crutchfield.com. don't buy there unless they have a closeout amazing deal, but they'll tell you exactly what will fit in your car and where. then you can start looking around. if price is no object, look into Nakamichi, MBQuart(before they were bought out), Focal, and McIntosh, but from what you said, good sound on a budget would be Polk or Infinity. A little pricier would be Alpine, Polk/MOMO(i have a sub i'll sell you cheap), JBL, etc.
