M3 Geeks

Is this a real M3? The mirrors, rims, and badges look o.k. What about the bumper and the skirts?

Is this a car you're looking at buying? Post the VIN # and we can be certain what it is. The clear side turn signals look like they were added on afterwards so I'm 1% skeptical now lol

yeah, WBS vin is M, WBA vin isn't, for the most part, this rule applys to e36s though.

Also, M's have visibly larger brakes.

there are so many ways to identify an M3 , the problem is being educated enough to know what your looking for. as said above the VIN is important, as well as specific parts. i can recall a few people who have been screwed and bought a car thinking it was an M3 on various forums and thats just a bad way to find out.

When I went shopping for an e36 with a buddy of mine, some guy was advertising a yellow 325is as an M3. The brakes were a dead give away, I confirmed with the VIN. I let the guy go on and on, he even had the gauge cluster, door sills, etc, etc.

It's a fake...look at the side markers...they r the bigger ones...from a 94-96 car...They only made 4 door M's in 97-98,which had the smaller side marker
