euro M3 is 343 (different headers/cats)
delage claims 25 from intake
cams at least another 25 (vac motorsports claims 40)
software, headers, no cats, exhaust, pulleys, fan delete should be over 400

I'll do one before and after... good to see what we're starting with.

I will definately dyno it. Drove my friends car with cams (slightly less aggressive then mine - 282/280 vs 290/282) and there was a big difference espeically on the top end.

Also keep in mind that the Z3 has a very low driveline loss (ca. 12-13%) compared to e36/e46 (ca. 18%). So rwhp numbers will also be 3-5% higher.

the 343, is also dff way of measuring it. You have headers and cats, so that number is not really valid, as the diff mostly comes from the headers and cats. You wont get 25 from the intake. Cams are really worth more like 15 or so. I think you will be around 370 to 375, which is still a very strong number.
Im hoping to be around there too when Im done.

Tom, Euro M3 is measured in DIN HP, while in North America we measure in SAE HP.
1.01 DIN HP = 1 SAE HP.

Thats why E60 M5 in europe rated at 507hp, but in North America it is 500hp. Those cars are identical though.

343 DIN HP is 338 SAE HP
So Euro spec e46 m3 only gains 5hp at the peak over US SPEC.

Also, I doubt you'll ever reach 400hp, here is an example
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PTG-B...ayphotohosting

A race prepped 3.2l PTG M3 only has 420hp. And that thing has EVERYTHING money can buy, also it needs a rebuilt pretty often.

BTW, I dynoed my car with a aa trackpipe last friday(no cats), guess how much HP I gain?
3rwhp after 6k rpms, and lost 5rwhp and 10rwlbs/ft everywhere under 6k rpms. And thats on forced induction car, Im sure on NA, the gains are even less.

Anyway, just dyno it, and stop the guessing game.

I gained nearly 20rwhp when I went from no cats to race cats. I think these engines need the back preasure.
