A 2.8 L can be made to beat a stock M3, its not that hard but just expensive. This is my goal. I think that with these mods it would be close:

Intake
Exhaust
Higher LSD differential (probably a 3.38 or a 3.46)
LOTS of weight reduction
Pullies
Fan Delete mod
Chip
Maybe some more agressive cams
and a very good driver!!!!

This would probably make it a very close race I think. Anyone have anything else to add???

Well, we think alike, but I have a 3.15 diff already, and I'd also get the M50 intake manifold. And I'd do mild weight reduction (rear seats out). And I'm definately spending some money on a driving school in the spring. The car can be as fast as it wants, but what is the point of you can't hold it at it's limits. (Hey Randy, wanna gimmie some precision driving lessons? )

Its a mod where you remove your fan that cools your engine, since to power the fan, takes away performance hp from your engine. You get like 6-8hp from it I think. Its not dangerous to do either.

You use an electric fan, instead of the one that runs off the belts.
