Having Issues

I think I found where each of the fuel rail hoses connects to but they dont exactly fit over eachother...how can this be? Does anybody have a pic? I tried realoem.com and there pics are draing blanks (literally) in the important areas. Does anybody know about the fuel supply system on e36's here?

Sorry, just saw this thread now. I don't really understand what you mean though... about the fuel rails not fitting over each other?

not the fuel rails, but the fuel hoses that run off the fuel rails. I am putting a engine back into a car, the fuel hoses that are attatched to the fuel rails look like they connect to another hose. How do I connect a hose to another hose? No adapter or anything in between them...?

the hoses from the fuel rails do not attach other other hoses as far as I know, the S50/S52 engines may be different though. There is one hose that is clamped on the front of the rail. (the fuel feed hose). At the rear of the fuel rail is the fuel return hose which is connected to the fuel pressure regulator. There is also a vacuum hose for the fuel pressure regulator.

Do you have some pictures you can post up? It'd be easier to see what you're dealing with, and I can photoshop some lines/instructions in there if I can see what's wrong.

It's possible (??) That the hoses are a different size for the new engine, I would assume the S50/S52 engines use larger injectors and fuel rail too.

Thanks for ur help Justin, u always come through. It turns out that the large ones on the fuel rail are m3 and the others are from the 325i setup that was on there since day 1. So I am goin to take the hoses off the fuel rail being there very short and use the long ones from the original set up being there really long and can reach up to the fuel rail near the injectors. Thanks again! P.S. I broke the fuel canister condensor while taking out the previous engine so it will still be a week or so till its all said and done. Will keep u guys posted with pics soon.
