Mystery Wires For CCFL DEPO's

K so far I'm doing a dry run before soldering everything. So my H1's work but not my angel eyes. On the 9005,9006 adapters there's a grey(12v) wire sticking out (4th pic)...now where does that go and what is wrong if anything other then that??

The 2nd pic is the plug that plugs into the angel eyes. The 2 red circles is where it is connected..

Thanks

Answers...
grey wire is for optional city light socket (peanut bulb socket in the hight beam)
Angel eyes wiring is seperate, wire them into the corner marker light circuit, or at least this is what most have done. Colours of the angel eyes wiring to foow in a second (I'll check my set-up)

looked at your pics again...take the angel eyes wires (from the module) off the headlight ground and city lights terminal!
wire them seperatly to your corner light harness...
I will get back to you on which colours...basically you cut the tape on your corner marker light harness close to where it breaks out from the main part of the headlight harness, find the wires for your marker lights (parking lights) not signal and cut/ splice them in, solder, tape...and your done (test before solder and taping of course)

colour codes for angel eyes to corner parking lights

Based on wire harness of my 1993 E36 325i
Angel Eye gray connect to Gray/ Yellow of parking light harness
Angel Eye brown to Brown of parking light harness
Hope that helps!
BTW, If one marker light is out, you might connect both Angel Eyes to the one side...not sure if that will overload the wire but if the angel eyes module wire guage is an indication of the load, it would seem the current draw is fairly low?

K thanks Andy! Well I got the marker working now. Now the problem is that my low beam works and part of that angel eye(it's like theres not enough power) and it's hooked right up to the + terminal? The other one high beam..doesn't come on at all..

And I did the yellow/grey and brown setup and nothing, same as the above part comes on and one doesn't.

Another Question where did you guys run the white wires from the angels to the corners with the back plastic thing on???

upgrade fuses as well as check your wiring...
you need to play around with them...
I've had no problems yet knock on wood....you need to do a carefull job...solder, as well as silicone to lock out moisture...

also angel eyes take a lot of juice..if one is low when the battery is on.....turn on the car....

what do you mean one eye does not work...one headlight or one of the two angel eyes on a headlight pair??
If it is one angel eye of the pair on one headlight assembly, try switching the little balck connectors and see if the problem moves...if the problem moves then the issue is with the module, if the problem stays with the same angel eye ring...then its the angel eye
Let me know

White wires plug into the little black box harness (inverter/ transformer or whatever that black box is?)
The output wires on the black box are gray and brown, aren't they?
So I am not sure what "white wire from the angel eyes you are talking about??

Well it's 8:40pm and 12 fuses later, I'm throwing in the towel for tonight.

Here's my problem, It's one angel eye of the pair, I tried switching eyes on the module and it seems to be the eye itself...

On the drivers side, the lowbeam keeps blowing fuses, so I pulled out the whole light assembly and friged around with that. There was the ground for the H1 that was loose, pushed it back, plugged the light in and it worked(???), so I installed the housing and light, start the car blow another fuse(think its fuse 31?? 7.5amp) I even tried a 30 amp and it blew, so I have a connection problem or something...I'm going for a beer and watch the rest of the game and give her another shot tomorrow..

What ticks me off is after you do this once, you realise it'll take you less then 2 hours to do it properly...

Sounds like a short somewhere...you need to stand back tommorro and look at all the connections and check continuity between ground and all the 12v lines...sounds fishy
Good luck...
