Question Knowledge of Universal Remus Mufflers

Sup boys

I'm thinking of buying a Universal Remus muffler for my 318i.

Anybody ever heard the sound of it? I have no idea how it sounds. If it sounds like fart cans on civics and supras....forget it.

Is it a deep throttle sound like on an M5 or a well done up 328i.. then im in.

Anyone have any info or sound files i can listen to?

Thanks

hey

a member on the boards by the name of kòózy got this muffler on his 318is... sounds amazing. really amazing. deepest sounding 4-cylinder I've ever heard. he's a good friend of mine.

ps - ask BMWFORLIFE, he has heard it before too.

I just got mine installed last week. Best exhaust there is for the E36 318 models. Sounds very deep.

I think maybe you should get new rims before you get a new muffler.

I don't know what the universal or custom are, but I do know for sure that you need the single-in. I'm pretty sure the universal Remus is dual-in, so you probably need a custom.

no problem there, you could always use Y pipe if its dual in, and no remus universals usually come in as single in.

I promise, you will not be disappointed.

PS - 1PhatBeemer: was the universal you got a dual-in? if so, how was it installed? same as what mpower1226 said - with the Y-pipe?

with a Y pipe, you're always going to be creating some extra backpressure.

Cars that have dual pipings(6 cyl) using y to connect single in might create extra back pressure, but I dont think in this case which you would use Y pipe to connect the dual in from single piping, would create any more back pressure. I could be wrong though

ooh, i guess i should have read the whole thing. ,yeah, going from single to dual would cause you to lose backpressure.

its a 318, you want the single in dual out. remus is a great brand and make some great exhausts. The universals are very easy to source and are decently priced.
