BIZARRE CD DECK Situation

I just bought an e30 and it came with a kenwood deck + blaupunkt 10cd changer. When I bought the car, both were working fine. After I put a new battery in, the cd changer would not turn on at all and the cd deck was only flashing and did not boot up as well. Seeing that I had a spare deck lying around, I hooked that one up to the car (JVC model). This deck turned on and worked....but only for a few seconds, then it would just keep on flashing like the old Kenwood deck and would constantly turn itself on and off...the cd changer remains the same, refuses to turn on.

Any remedies? ideas? comments?

ANY help would be greatly appreciated as I am student on a tight budget and could not fork out for pro install / fix.

check all the fuses...do you have any audio equipment? it could be that the fuse on the deck is going or if you have a fuse near the battery that could of gone or something causing everything to go weird.

fuse on the deck and every fuse in the fuse box looks ok to me...

u have an alarm? aftermarket? a guy brought his prelude to me same sorta thing and when i unpluged the alarm stereo worked......plug it back in and no worky....the guy who installed the alarm put some wires where they shouldnt have be conn. (starter disable) n when ever the bat went dead or w/e it would reset the alarm and it wouldnt work.....its messed up i know but i have seen worse.....

no alarm at all in the car, the new JVC deck turned on for 10 seconds, started to play the cd, and then it would turn off on its own, and then the deck would turn itself back on again, the cycle kept on repeating today until the deck wouldn't turn on again...

when the deck was on, all the speakers had sound....
