Driven both. Manual TL takes my vote... fast, smooth, luxuruious machine. The e36 will win on the twisties though.

TL is signifigantly faster then the 5er i think, never ran the two against eachother but it certainly feels faster...

thanks for that info justin, that would be interesting to see cause i know that the TL certainly feels just as capable in the corners as the 5er, especially with the better tires that are on it...

lol paul, yes you would win in the beast lol, i guess i have more HP then him donno what he has so i can't say for sure, he was saying that the 328i would do 14.9 1/4 mile and i think C&D did a 14.4 1/4 mile which for professional drivers is a lot but for us average joe's i would expect that it would be a pretty close run, my thinking, yes the tl has more HP but in a 1/4 mile run is it not the torque that plays a big factor, i think mine is between 230-250lb/ft i really don't know plus they changed the power specs on the '06 model year so i donno where to grab specs from, but isn't the 328i pretty close to that? plus my car i would think is heavier and also FWD which means putting down that power is a lot more of a chore lol. i really donno, that and propane keeps saying that i'd win so whats the point lol....... the 5er he wouldn't mind running i don't think cause 328's like zimmie's pretty much have me, certainly from a hwy point like 100km/h to 200 or so he just kept moving away. also the 5er has to be in 3rd to get the same power as a car in 4th cause the gears are so long... from the same speed in 3rd with him in 4th we were a bit closer if i remember correctly.

Yup you in 3rd and me in 4th was damn close, but I could have downshifted aswell.. But all in all i think the Tl would take it for sure...just a more powerful car.

And take into account I have the 3.23 LSD in my car...

328 torque is 206 stock.

Well you will beat him now that he has his 18's on there, he is losing even more cause he needs to move those big wheels. But there E39 M5 replicas so thats an extra 100hp at least lol

propane has M5 replica rims on his car, 18"ers. I will check on T.E. and see what is up cause im definatly feeling some cruisage in the forcast.... if it turns out that t.e is doing one, i will hitup the max meet then head to that, also will bring the 5er in that case proly.
