If you don't want to fix the ABS, then take the ABS bulb out of the dashboard. Note that if you have traction control on your vehicle, that will also not be operating.

kris, what kinda car do you have?
common issues i have seen on:
e30--- the voltage protection relay under the driver side kickpanel just above the abs control unit. its a small silver relay... if the car was boosted, chances are that protection relay will get blown... you can take them apart and fix the cold solder points. or a new sensor is 65.00 and it plugs in.
e36--- typically the front abs sensors go open and cause the light to come on. i change them in pairs if one has gone bad. each sensor i belive is 148.00 each

i hope this helps.

any other ideas? my wheel sensors are fine, ABS computer has been changed. I'm thinking the ABS pump? ... my ABS light used to be intermittent, and sometimes when the ABS would kick in THEN the light would come on.. now it's on all the time. ideas?

Justin - I have the same problem. I took it to charlie (thinking its sensors) and he said my rotors are almost dead hence the problem. (I just got my pads changed and still the problem persists). Sometimes for me the light does not come on for sevral hours and suddenly it turns on. However latley the light has been on continuously and I believe the ABS is not working.

there is a metal part behind the rotor that works with the wheel sensors. I think this is what he meant, not rotors. When your ABS light is on, your ABS is not working.

The thing is.. is your ABS light on as soon as your start the car, or only when you start driving?

Sometimes its on when I turn on my car, but most of the time it turns on after the first time I apply the break pedal.

I've noticed that mine only comes on if I start the car with my brake pushed all the way to the metal... If I start my car with the parking brake or without slamming down the brake peddle it's fine... and my brakes work great too!

ive had an issue with my left front speed sensor for like 2 years now, just too lazy and cheap to fix it. the speed sensor is usually the main culprit to cause the ABS light to go on. but the speed sensor itself is pretty pricey.
