CEL on - WTF?

Ok, i recently got a CEL...code reads 1221, meaning the O2 sensor (1992 325is). So i replaced this about 4 months ago, is this normal for it to go already? the light comes and goes....i bought the bosch O2 sensor from budds BMW, so why is this happening??? Can O2 sensors go this fast? Im starting to think its the wiring, but how? How can i check all this?

if you had something causing a super rich condition

Is it happening when it rains/carwash?
does it go on and off? (<-- you said yes to that already...)

I had this problem with my 92 325is, What was happening to my O2 is that the heater wire (pre-heats the O2 to operating temp. 300c? which comes out of the ecu) was getting wet thus creating a little short, thus not heating up the O2, (thus, lol) setting off my code.

Only happend a half dozen times, all of which goes away within 24hours.

I have had previous problems with my ecu flooding, happened on my first carwash of owning the car, I have been hand washing it strickty for 2 years now...

good luck...

i always hand wash, and it did come on right after the wash....it did rain here in mississauga as well. Has anyone tried injector cleaner? im starting to think maybe its running a bit lean, or maybe too rich.
