M3 bumper vs Lip
Guys i need help. I'm not sure if i should buy an M3 bumper for my car or settle for a lip. What is the cost involved for each. My biggest issue is paint. My car is black but the lower half of the front and rear bumpers as well as my side skirts are a plastic matte black color. What do you think? Any opinions?

Eurostyle at Mississauga has E36 bumper lip you should call them and ask how much, member hioctane's car maybe you can PM him
I don't know about M3 bumper, prices are vary between OEM and aftermarket + paint but M3 bumper is definitely hotter...but for price concern i'll go for lip and it make a lot different

had the same delema and went with the bumper, getting painted as we speak.
and about the side skirts colour, i did this!
http://www.geocities.com/karlkarlb/greyskirts.html getting rid of the grey, cuz really its the factory colour under it!!
BUT like Fletch said, Price wise, well lip would mose oviously be cheaper , unless u would paint the lip + bumper to match (since u did say it had that
"rocker panel" grey paint)
ps. i thought that the grey bumpers and side skirts stopped after like the 96's???

i say lip, im going lip all the way, Im a firm believer that if its not an m3, it doenst need an m3 bumper. They are in my opinion way over played.
but thats just me

lips are good if you wanna be a bit different, i do feel the M3 bumper, i mean i have one myself, but they are the standard in body upgrades, and for obvious reasons, they are still the best looking front end for our cars short of awesome customs like say Jon Sibals sick ass front.

Yeah I agree with you spooner but my goal isn't pretending to have an M3 rather it's to make the front of my car look more up to date. You will never see an ///M on the outside of my car.
Hey E36er, I think the lip will do it for me granted that your method works. Did this really work on your car? Any pics? Thanks!

Another question. Does this method work on the bumpers as well? or is it just the skirts?

Ya, the M3 bumpers look the best without a doubt, but its tough to look 'different' with one. I had a lip for my car, and i found it a bit more practical, cause when winter rolled around i just unscrewed the lip off and i was ready for the winter, i find that the M3 bumpers are a bit too low and might be a little trouble in the winter (especially if the car is lowered).
On the other hand, if you plan on painting your existing bumper/lip anyways, i'd say get an M3 cause in the long run, it'll cost you the same!

Thanks for all your help guys. I just picked up an ACS Type I lip from ///MsAniTy and can't wait to install it. That's the cheapest alternative for now and it looks really good. Does anyone know a place where I can paint it? I was quoted $200 at Carstar which I think is a little $$$$

I did this to my car and it looks great. Only the side skirts have the matching paint underneath, the bumpers have to be painted.
