i thought in later years they made the grill wider around the edges but yet they would still fit earlier e36's....... why not just take the grill you have sand and paint it your self? thats what im doin this summer.

I've got 2nd ones still in a box and can't decide whether to color-match or paint black.
I think if I color-match, I'll just do the outside edges, and not the vertical slats- leave those black.
thoughts?

If thats the color in your sig, i think either black or body color would look sweet. IMO any dark colored car would look good with that. But dont listen to me, Its your car, you do what you think looks best.

Thanks for your opinion, I'm thinking the same way right now. I am leaning towards color matching it, but then, I look at my bumper and ///M mouldings and want to color match them as well. And if I do that, then I want to color match my diffuser and lip, and then if I do that, then I want to color match my door handles, then my windshield washer nozzles...
...but then it will look too "dipped in a can of paint", as my dad puts it, for a car of that time period. I dunno. I already love it the way it is, maybe I shouldn't mess with a good thing.
the debate in my mind never ends!
