BennyL you need to stop making these stupid obvious threads. Just because you're a newb when it comes to bimmers doesn't mean everyone is. This is a BMW enthusiast messageboard and OBVIOUSLY people know there was an E36 323. Do some searches as there are many members on here with them before you post stupid ass threads, moron.

i really dont see a reason for you to post a personal attack like that for no reason.
since this is a BMW forum, and i had a question about a BMW, i asked it here. thats what this forum is for.
and since most of the other BMW members here are nice, i know they'll answer in a cool way... just like spooner and rodo did.
what i was getting at with this thread, is that i wanted to know more about the E36 323 - purely out of curiosity and interest in BMW's.
so.... nobody cares about your stupid insults. now please feel free to be quiet. thank you.

No Problem BennyL
The 323 was introduced to make the 328 look better. Since the gap in performance between 328 and 325 wasnt that large
Essentially, it had the same 2.5L engine (a new M52B25 vs. M50B25) , but has a really restricting exhaust. 168 hp @ 5500 RPM and 181 lb-ft @ 3950 RPM
Supposedly, It was US only as well. Elsewhere, they still had the 325

aha, thanks rampage.
i had a suspicion it might have been US only... since i've never seen or heard of one here yet. and i noticed some mention of them by US members on bf.c.
so its basically a less powerful 325.
thanks for the help. its people like you that make maXforum a great place to come for information and knowledge.

The 323 was ONLY made in coupe form for North America. It was ONLY made in 1998-1999. It does have the 2.5L that has a restrictive exhaust from the 325 (hence the less HP numbers). They are very underrated cars. how do I know this?? I had one!! Just sold it to another member here. Ask him if he thinks it's slow . They are awesome machines. If ya need anything else don't hesistate. Cheers!

I'm pretty sure you could do a search BennyL.. it is not hard to find out the specs of a car without posting a braindead thread like this... there is a SEARCH feature for a reason.

ya, and this is also a forum for a reason
for the record, what is your reason for calling this thread brain dead?
this is a BMW forum.
according to www.dictionary.com, a forum is "A public meeting place for open discussion"
therefore, we can conclude that this forum is a public meeting place for open discussion about BMW's, and more specifically about E36 BMW's.
so... i think its safe to say that i asked an open question about E36's in a place meant for open discussion about E36's.
therefore, my thread is not brain dead.
thanks.

yes, and these are stats about a car that you could easily find out with a search engine. You do know this forum you speak about does not just appear online.. it is paid for. You do know the bandwidth that you are using up making this thread... it is paid for. Do a search so the same things dont have to be covered over and over again because you were born yesterday and don't know a thing about the car you drive.

You can set your own title in your user cp. Why didn't you do a search before asking?
Anyways...I never knew the 323 came with a restrictive exhaust, and was also pretty curious as to what the deal was with them
