1987 325is VS Celica GT VS Magnum 3.5L

i raced both of those cars and won but not at the same time, the celica gt(the new one) looked like it had few mods but the magnum was stock, the celica gt i beat by 1-2 cars but the magnum i beat by half a car but he had a magnums car length head start(which is long) on me and i still won by half a car .... damn i didn't think that the 325 is that fast, good for a 19 year old car

^ Thats siick, I know a guy who always trys to talk shit cuz he has a 2001Celica GTS (Year doesnt matter, the newer ones) and always says about how he can kill any E30 whether it be a "IS" or even M3 lol. I mean I know theyre "quick" and his GTS might even beat a "IS" I dont know itd be a good race, but I think a M3 would spank him.

FYI M3 isn't any faster than a 325is. My money would be on the GTS though, I had my ass handed to me by a corolla with the same motor (XRS IIRC). 180hp BTW.

with a GTS you'd have to really know how to drive the car, they are quick but hard to keep the rev's up bcus of the gearing.

Also it has to be manual, an auto GTS is slower than a manual GT Celica.

Realistically you hear this debate all the time yet numbers usually confirm that the M3 has some (even if slight) jump on the 325is overall. I mean not considering the speed intervals that some trials use that show it going back and forth but still overall to the M3,.

^ Yeha the GT should be a piece, Im pretty sure its only 135hp, id say 140 max, but the GTS is 180hp I beleive. Either way tho a type S would rape it like you did, cuz your extra horsepower & v-tech. The gearing on the celicas is crap, that 6-speed shit is useless, and ud need to keep the revs up so high between shifts in it to keep power.

GTS is 180hp, gt is 140, i remeber this from when we were looking at them... not bad cars but power on the GTS wasn't as impresive as was expected most because the power is up high and as stated you need to work for it and know how to drive the car... also its FWD and FWD sports cars are imo not a great idea.... and yes the type-s will rape a GTS mostly because it has a much more happy revving engine and more tq i believe too.... once a type-s hits 6500rpm it's see you later GTS......

man i loved that motor so much... it simply screamed after 6500 made me each time hehehe

Hound, you have no idea what you are talking about.

The GTS accelerates just as fast as a stock type-s...

The GTS weighs 2500lbs, its practically 200lbs lighter, so that makes up for the 20hp... power higher up in the revs??? So you've actually compared both cars stock dynos graphs?? If you did, you'd notice that the GTS usually dyno's in @ 162 at 7600rpm the wheels normally.. not to far from the Type S..

The GTS will murder any E30... and come real close to the E30 M3....

^Outta curiosity, whats the torque band like on the GTS then.

I mean for hp at 7600rpm, when the Type-S power comes in earlier with the V-tech (I could be wrong) but it seems like the Type-S would be at the noticeable advantage.
