changing your brake fluid is more important IMO.

according to pics in gallery, there are other makes (like porsche and corvette) participating.

^^^^Non-BMW cars are all allowed.... infact, we have several regulars that come out with STi's and WRX's.

-do you have to tell your insurance company you're doing this?

thanks
-Yes, first timers will be in a beginner run-group where 85% of the group have 0 track experience. The instructor takes you out for the first (slow) session describing the proper line and giving much guidance.
-Once you register for the school, you will recieve a package in the mail with a tech form that must be completed by a certified mechanic and brought on the morning of the school. Basic "certification" type requirements is expected from your vehicle. It's always a very good idea to bleed the brakes and replace the fluid with the best stuff money can buy (I think DOT 6.1 now?). Older cars (E30's) must have the control arm bushing carefully checked. (subframe mounts on E36's)
-You don't have to tell your insurance company about the school... it's not a race, so don't worry about getting in shit for it.
-All NEW students will have the club's annual $54 membership fee waived if they sign up for the April school (confirmed).

Wait, I have to pay a certified mechanic to look over my car? Everything has been replaced on it that can fail.

And how do we know that at the school? The registration people don't have time to go and look under everyone's car. When you get a certified mechanic to look at it and sign the tech form, his reputation is at stake, hence the registration process is more efficient because we don't need to worry about cars falling apart on the track.

Charlie it is. How recent does it have to be? Can I get it done once and have it last all season?
