i got a better idea
buy e30m3 either with busted motor or yank the motor and sell it for $3-4K US, then drop an S50/S52 into it or an LT1
He's well within the budget

Looking at the grammar in his post and the parts list, I think he just copied and pasted that from somewhere.
BTW are there many M3's still around for sale?

Really? How much and condition.
There used to be a red one in mint condition I used to see close to a friends shop about 8 years ago. All of a sudden I stopped seeing it. Last summer, I was by another friends garage and saw a "pink" looking M3 in his lot, so I asked him where it was from and owner.
He said the owner is the first owner and worked at.... same place I used to see it.
I was shocked to see the car faded so much. Truth to the matterr is, the owner parked it OUTSIDE uncovered for 6 years and brought it in for service. It had to get a complete new brake job, clutch, rad, water pump........ nearly $ 7,000 in repairs. My jaw dropped when I was told that he was giving it to his 18 year old daughter.
I sat in the car, looked at the speedo, it had about 62,000 KM on it. I was so sorry for the car and mad at the owner.

I would first like to start off with saying, this list is not off of no web site on another persons part list. This is a list that i composed with a little bit of resurch. Also, i know that there are parts on the list the over lap, but reson for thow is i dont know exaclty which one i want from thows parts. so i listed them all. I am also on the fence with a turbo motor, i was also interested in doin a supercharger or, even a N/A motor (which i have parts lists for also). So yes i am young, and yes i did some resurch, but like i said its a personal list of my own and like i said, it might be a little waist of money but its the funnest habit a man can have. and for my grammer im sorry, i came from a diffrent country, and english wasent the first language i lerned.

From someone who spent $75k on mods for his E30 (me)..... trust me when I say your list will top $100K once complete... far more than an E46M3 or 850csi you mentioned. Don't bother unless you own a performance shop and are trying to showcase what work you're capable of (eg: VS motors in Sweeden)

That was how much the (2 year build) "blue" transformation cost me... I spent way more on the car years before on numerous versions of my modded M20 2.7L nitrous motor and various stereo installs.

Anyone can assemble that list just by cruising the forums. And it's too much. It also says to me that the guy is not using his brain................. so I sort of have to agree with Jordan.
There are E30 M3's around. The trick is in finding a good one that hasn't been beaten............. not only motor wise but structurally........... or had a ton of repairs................ or isn't rotting. There are not a lot available and even less that are actually good examples worth dropping a ton of money into. Restoring an E30 M3 and then doing some fancy work to the S14 and associated mechanicals.......... you'll blow that $35K+ in a wink.

Was it worth the enjoyment you got out of the car? (not taking into account that it was stolen and your time with the machine was cut short)
