This is an answer I can answer first hand. Since you have my old car, they are dead on right.
I have raced all VR6 trims from VW.
1995 Passat Vr6 Auto(stock)-Smoked him
1995 Jetta Vr6(a few little mods) AG- Car- we had about 3 runs 2 runs were DEAD EVEN!!! 1 run, I maybe pulled on him a few feet.
199? GOlf Vr6 (stock)- Beat me by half a car lenght.
199? Golf Vr6 (some mods)- Smoked me.
There you go.
Go, try it, and compare.

I lined up with a bone stock MKIII VR6 GTi, 5-speed, and we went at it at least 4 times (completely deserted road). This is when all I had was the 91 octane MarkD chip.
I won by at least 2-3 cars through the quarter, every single time.
I also once raced a fairly heavily modded MKIII Jetta VR6, and he left me like an E36 M3 does. Crazy.

I had my ass handed to me by a MKII with a VR6 swap. Pretty badly, he pulled as fast as a 545 on me.

Yeah, my neighbour used to have an MKII Jetta with a full Corrado swap (VR6, 5-bolt, interior...). It was fast as shit, and still one of the best sounding cars I've ever heard (K&N cone, Borla muffler).

i'd love for someone to setup like a track or 1/4 mile day so we can bring our e30s out to see how we fair against eachother.

Come out to a track day at Shannonnville, it's a lot more fun than drag strip.

Is 5 speed 325i 4door any slower? I know that 325is got lsd. All in all , I think it's pretty fast for the 325is that came one the market in 1987....
Nice race.
