MB = 76.34 HP/L
M3 (e46) = 107.1875 HP/L

New e90 M3 will be in the 420-440 Hp range with its 4.0L V8.

I am amazed by Mercedes! There are some car makes that wanted to prove something in terms of competition. I hope Mercedes comes with a mini Airbus A320 engine. Just to blow away the competiiton as they have been doing so.

The only problem I see what that car is in my vision it has too much power and the traction will be a bigg problem. Even my E46 M3 is too much for me to handle with traction control off.

All that power/etc and a good ol slushbox auto for a tranny............such a great way to completely wreck a very nice/hot car. Main reason why I will never consider any MB/AMG car...........freakin auto.........what a joke! Oh well I guess it appeals to the buyers........old guys lol

My comparison was on a per litre (/L) basis.

on that note, the MB is 73.02 ft lbs/L
and the BMW would be 87.5 ft lbs/L based on 350 ft lbs

Again, the BMW has a better engineered engine with even a considerabely better gas milage (torque generated more efficiently per litre).
