I'm looking to sell my e30 to get back into aircooled vdubs -

Specs -
Small tail-light 2 owner car (3rd, but first 2 were father/son).
I have 90% of the service history.
Runs like a top
232,000 km (top end redone by BMW just before 200,000)
Zinnoberot red on black/grey houndstooth interior (bolsters on front seats have been professionally redone)
Rear pop-outs
14" basketweaves on almost new Falken 512 Ziex's
14" steelies w/snows
K&N filter
Needs nothing for cert and e-test

Things I've done in the past 6 months -

Replaced metal sunroof panel
Driveshaft center support
Brakes (all 4 corners, and front calipers)
Tires (the Falkens)
Blower motor (2 weeks ago $600 part)
Intake manifold gasket (last week)
The heater core was done recently as well
I haven't done the math, but the receipts from the last 6 months probably total close to 3 grand

Things that are wrong with the car -

Drivers door lock cylinder is out and needs replacing
Drivers door interior handle works, but the plastic is broken
I have the centercaps for the basket weaves, but they're in rough shape (the platic part, the metal part is OK)
I've taken the glove box out, and it needs some help in the rear mounting area
The silver spots in the pictures are where I've put some rust-bullet, and as you can see, the passenger side fender has a hole in the bottom, and the panel where the license plate lights attach has the holes rusted out, so that needs some attention. The paint itself (save the RB spots) is in pretty good shape, and would buff out nicely)
Other than that, it needs nothing

I'm looking for $3500 FIRM, or would trade for an aircooled VW.

Thanks.

All pics taken last week -

Interior and motor pics to follow.

So does Rust bullet not work? Or did you not seal it?

Just curious..

I don't think one can certify a car with rust holes.

Bump for an e30

^^^ I am pretty sure that rust holes aern't a problem for saftey unless it is in the floor board. But I could easily be wrong.

the locks will cause trouble as well

I didn't even think about the lock being an issue for certification, I'd edit the post, but don't see the edit button anywhere?

I didn't topcoat the rust-bullet, and it's only been on there for a couple months, so I think it's "rust killing" properties aren't quite what it claims. Nevertheless, it seems to be keeping it somewhat at bay.

I don't need to see it in person and wouldn't even make the venture to.
A diving board, rusted e30 with a nice interior is not worth more than 1500.
E30's, especially diving board ones, have gone down in price, unless they are COMPLETELY mint, or euro spec.
Not being an ass, just telling you. You are better off trying to sell it to a kid that want's a BMW but knows shit about them.

I agree with the others... 1500 tops. Although if you bought a 5 dollar can of red paint from canadian tire, and spent 10minutes painting over the grey spots, some kid would buy the car for way more.

Where did you get the sunroof panel from?
The car does look to be in pretty good shape, but there aint alot of people willing to spend that much on an old e30 anymore.
