Question to those who have M door mouldings

I did a search but didn't really find specific consistent info. I just picked up the retrofit kit and was wondering if I just need to pop the new ones in? They have the clips and the white rubber things but I've read that some people say it's kinda loose when they put theirs on. I've read other things where people put green gromets used from the sides skirts. What did you guys do to install yours?

The 2 sets I've done just popped right in. Use a piece of cloth/rag to anchor a flat screw driver when pulling the old ones out.

I just put a set in, they all popped right in except for my passanger door, I just can't get it to sit flush on the body for some reason. I'm still trying to figure out what I will do to get it to sit properly.

I would not recommend using the green gommets for your side mouldings, as they are not water-proof. Use the rubber ones. Just pop your old mouldings out, line up the clips on your new moulding, and push it in. Very easy mod, and makes your car look so much better. Make sure your badges are on your fender moulding before you put it in.

When you say use the rubber ones, you mean the white ones that come with the new moulding, correct? Yes, I've been waiting a long time to get these and they'll definitely look better than the old skinny ones.

Car looks sick btw sloveniaboy

That's correct. The ones for the M3 side skirts are green plastic pressure clips.

I used everything that came in the retrofit kit and it worked great...

BennyL - the M3 strips are wider (actually taller?) so that they match the bumper strips... the non-m are a thinner pices of plastic

Follow up question:

once i install these, they will look much newer than the door handles. is there anything in particular i can clean the door handles with? Are there aftermarket CF door handles for e36 4dr's?

thanks guys

ohhhh, i see. i looked at the pic, then at my car. i like!

but you need then for the 3-quarter panels too, right? not just the door.

so how much does a kit like this run? i think it looks great!
