I wont be able to fit anything wider then 255's until I widen the body.

I'm planning on a photoshoot sometime next week maybe. Depends on time.

For the guy who posted there are 3 ways. I will start halfass/most inexpensive and work to proper.

-A) Drill em yourself
A) By 4 to 5 lug conversion spacers
B) E36 parts
C) E30 M3 Parts

Sorry to burst your bubble, Jordan, but in case you still don't know this, there comes a point where going wider just does not benefit the traction/braking/etc (except for possibly bragging rights).
You see, it's all about the area of the rubber patch that touches the road, not about the actual width of the tire.
If you are past that point, going wider results in redistribution of the weight of the car across larger width, which results in reduction of usable patch area per unit width.

I would guess that going wider than 255 is well past that point. People had reported that 225 all around is well sufficient even for tracking not talking about day to day driving.

Just get better tires

to original poster:
main two advantages of 5lug are:
1. cheap big brakes
2. larger selection of rims

Yes, which is why serious track e30's are running 285-315's.

i can understand your sarcasm, i don't claim to know best, still in process of researching.
do you have any good technical articles that prove that wider = necessarily more traction? or you just go by what "serious track e30s" do? (= pretty weak argument)

FYI, serious track cars run R-comps which are worlds stiffer than your regular performance street tire. With tire this stiff, that point of diminishing returns (that i mentioned in my previous post) comes muuuch later (that's why they justify running 315s)

btw, while we are on the topic, did you do anything with (like remove) your ABS ? have you biased your front/rear brake hydraulics?

Alex

I like my ABS and plan to keep it thanks.

I don't have a problem with front/rear bias and there is no need to adjust it.
