I want subs :)
Hey guys, I want a sub in my car and I'm poor, so I'm gonna spend less than 300 on everything. So I'm gonna buy used.
Some guy on a 240sx forum is selling this thing:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-8tgk3Nw...=108BASSLT#Tab
For 250. Does than seem decent? I honestly don't know anything about subs and amps, and this one already comes with the amp with it... so it seems good.
Edit: But it says it's for hatches and trucks, why is this? I have a coupe, would it be okay still ?
It has 250 watts RMS which is decent right?
Otherwise a (used) amp with like 300 watts will cost me what, 150, and a 10 inch sub would be 100..
What size sub do you guys recommend for my budjet for the best sound? Thanks..

Buying a powered sub with speaker level imputs is a good idea. If you dont pick this up lemme know i might, although i was thinking of getting a different model of the basslink

These set-ups never give good bass, it usually ends up just being boomy. Save your cash and buy a sub and amp seperate. A quality 10" with a decent amp can fill your car with more bass than a guy with two shitty 12's that he spent 1000 bucks on. It's all about positioning.

the setup i used to have was golden, i sold it with my old car, and for all the parts, subs box amp wiring kit etc. i spent about 300 which is your price range.
I had 2 10" Cerwin Vega Stealth subs which at the time i got both from crutchfield for about 130 shipped. They were 400 watt peak, 250 rms. The speakers were mounted in a bandpass box, which i payed about 50 for, and a jensen 500 watt amp which put out 250 per channel cost about 150, wiring kit cost about 20 bucks.
my friend spent a fortune on his and he had a 1000 watt 12 inch speaker with a 800 watt amp and my set up hit harder then his. rattled walls in the house but if kept low sounded perfect.
a good set up for a small budget.

This is going to sound stupid, but why does that system cost so much? I'm not saying it's a rip off, but the watts for both the amp and the sub seem pretty low for the 500 that was being asked for used subs...
So can you guys explain to me waht's gooda bout that system taht makes it so expensive, cause it seems to be like twice as much as most other 10 inch sub w/ amp combos w/ around that wattage..
