How to hook Ipod to headunit?

Im thinking about picking up a 4gig Ipod Nano, and i just want to make sure that I can hook it up to my headunit in my car. I heard there is just an adaptor that hooks up into the back of the headunit so I can run it off the Aux. Is this the right thing to do? Would everything be available at Futureshop/Best Buy? My headunit is a Alpine 9835. If anyone has hooked up an ipod to their headunit can you please chime in with any info.

there is a unit you can buy, it call CLEAN SWEAP and it is from JL AUDIO.....

2 ways u can do it. U can Aux it with an alpine cables model #KCA-121b or u can get an ipod adaptor where u can control all the ipod funtion thru the deck. which is the KCA-420i.
And dont upgrade ur deck. The late model alpine headunits 9855 internal hardware doesnt come no where near the 9835.Every alpine tech will tell u to keep that deck.

all these parts u can get thru audio2001. and if u r in toronto i can get them for without taxes

so I was right about the new alpine headunits not coming close to the 9815/9835 models.

what has changed internally? alpine is building less expensive units? and charging just as much?

I have a 9815 in my car, I was wondering how it compares to the 9835?

sound processor on ur unit its different from wat its in the 9833/9835.
9833 its the exact same headunit as the 9835 its jst doesnt come with the OEL Display. Swap a faceplate from a 9833 and u automatically got urself a 9835 (this applies to most pioneer headunits as well) ur 9815 its a jst a yr old from the 9835. they made lots of feature changes on it. favorite feautre on the 9833/35 its the Ipersonalize feautre. with ipersonalize, u can download/adjust Eq,Crossover settings etc. on ur computer but on a CDRW and write it to the Deck memory.

One neat thing they did with the 9855's is that, the ipod adaptor its Integrated in it so u will not need an external unit to run an ipod to it which makes the main processor very very slow when finding songs. as for sound eq setting its has a little added features but the sound process is not as superior as the one Built in the 9835s.
