Abandoned vehicles.

What is the protocol about abandoned vehicles on the side of the HWY. Lets say it has been sitting there for some time with no plates or nothing, looks like engine or something blew, could I just take it???? Do i need to do anything??? I doubt the ownership is there, but if it will only be used as parts/offroad, then I don't really need it. How could I find out who it belongs to and ask them?

You could probably write down teh VIN and go to the ministry and see if you can find the owner like that...not sure exactly what the law is..

half of the cars that are abandoned on the road are probably stolen... trust me i know...

ide say stolen, my parent own a store and every car that sits their (parking lot) for longer then a day comes up stolen 90% of the time.(unless we are told why its there)

its an old POS truck, nobody would steal it. I am not talking about a 5 year old M3 here people.

its more likely to be stolen because its a POS truck. Its easy to steal an old car for a joy ride than a new M3.

The fact is, you won't be able to license it or sell it w/o the registration, so unless it's just going to be purely for offroad entertainment, then it's a waste.

Then get to the ****ing point already. If the vehicle is registered to someone else, you need the signed registration form, otherwise you're out of luck. It's really quite simple.
