18 button obc retrofit.

My 18 button obc retrofit got done tonight. Everything works properly, and the process was super easy. If anyone wants to ask any questions, I might be able to help. I'm no expert or anything, but I'll try to help. Dave

Where did you have it done, how much, how long did it take, is the price including the OBC.

if you did it yourself, how much beer do you charge an hour?

thanks

Cool, I've had my 18 button OBC around for over a year now, I never have the motivation to install it.

Same here... except mine will take a whole load more motivation since I'm starting off with an 8 button. *sad
The only wires which already exist, are for the temp sensor, and gong.

Furious, there are lots of 18 button obc's for like less than 100$ on ebay, and if you dont trust that, try the bimmerforums.com parts for sale section. They're there often, but they get scouped up quick. g'luck

I bought my obc for $50 cdn with the pigtails (you need these for the swap) from Temp on this forum. He is a good seller and max member. I would definitely do business with him again. Anyway, I did the swap myself in the driveway. It took about an hour and a half to complete, and was pretty easy to do by following the DIY. I didn't install the new turn stalk but it seemed like too much work for the outcome. I may still do it one day, you never know. I also didn't have to remove my steering wheel to remove the cluster. That saved some time. Anyway, If anyone wants help with the swap let me know. I'm in Hamilton.

If you're serious, PM me what kind of beer you like, and when you're free. (it'll take me a week or two to be ready, get the obc, and get the car back from the bodyshop)

yeah im a crybaby, deal with it
