Some 6.5" require trimming more than cutting; others drop right in.
For what its worth, my Boston Acoustics Pros dropped right in.
I believe the 1" tweeters fit in the stock tweeter location; you do have to destroy the old tweeter to hollow out the shell - its glued in.

I got my 1" Alpine tweeters in the stock pods pretty easily, and the factory tweeters came out in 1 piece.

i just got some pionner 6.5's and i was suprised they dropped rite into the place of the old 5.25's
btw sounds so much better with them in the back....now all i need is to finish my sub box im buildin and pick up an nice decent amp this weekend

what did u cut it with jig saw????? i already start making room for 4 of them so i might as well finsh

For the front you cut or make something to fit 6.5, and in the rear you dont have to cut the rear deck because of the set up there. Yes you can use a jig saw for these, go from the trunk and not from in side....

Yes you are right NickP they are hot glued in, and it is a 1" tweeter they are using......

I wonder if they changed later on in the model year; I bought another pair from the wreckers since my tweeter pods have some broken mounting tabs and they're not popping out.

They were glued in, but they still came out without much drama, and in perfect condition.
