No, the differance is in the e30 there is No KNOCK seNsors
that may be true for 325's too ???
Also i read about the e36 hoods not closing with the E30 mani's on em
some1 tired this on bimmerforums.

solution for a e30 318 would be full standalone like SDS ($1500-$2000)
which allows you to install knock sensors & so on
at that point I'd just go Turbo, same for the original poster.

any1 want a Turbo mani for a E36 (at a reasonable price) pm me

benny i have an e36 cab....318ic to be exact...97 i love it..id go with a cab for sure...or stick with yours....ps stick makes a huge difference....my car before the cab was auto and it was a 2.6L....the bimmer is 5 speed 1.9 l and i've got it upto speeds around 240.... car is fast man....and in terms of gas..i went to toronto from kitchener and back on a quarter tank.....doing ave 160.....you'll be fine...and i wouldn't do the conversion....unless you bought your car new and it has some sentimental value....you could sell it and buy a cab for cheap.....make sure you buy a techo violet one like me so we could be buds.....

240 with a governed M44 (190 KPH) and not out of gearing with the stock 3:45 gear ratio?

@jeffrie: I don't get it

I have decided to **** the coupe idea. I realized how much I love my cab when I dropped the top last thursday - mid january! the feeling and the looks I got were unbeatable.

now, im still torn between a 318 and a 328... although I am certainly gonna ditch mine to get one with a 5-spd tranny.

still considering all the ideas. i just dont know how realistic the idea of force inducting a car would be for me...

so: proprone, BMW_7, and thinair -where do you guys live? I wanna see all your rides.

do the tranny 1st, then worry about power. just doing the tranny will give you more power or more control of what you have.

as for force inducing what to say: it really is bolt on.
all you need to find is a shop that won't rape you for wanting to FI a Bmw.

My motor is stock it had 238K on it when i had a turbo slapped on it,
car still runs great.
and is a night & day improvement in Power.
I spent very little for electronic Managment of said extra air being rammed in

if you find a non-rapist shop that never Fi'd a BM & is actually excited & wants to do it for you,
then the reality is it could happen for you, money depending of course.

ya, well, its not only the shop im worried about. i mean, force inducting a car takes at least $5k, and I don't exactly have that kind of cash...

I must decide between a 318 and a 328!
