e30 with 3.5L e34 535i engine doing over 260 kMh in 4th gear
Hi Guys,
This is the same monster setup I am doing this winter, except that mine will be turbo charged
Who said e30 bodies can't take a rocking?
Check this out.

They never really do look fast for some reason, maybe the screen size. I took vidoes when I was testing my e30 turbo setup and it looked slower in the vid than when I was driving.
HollyWood knows how to make a 10kMh car look like 410kMh and we get fooled trying to compare

I think this is full of shit.
260 in 4th? What, he has a 2.5:1 differential?? I've never ever heard of that gearset in a bmw.
And even if it did exist, the M30B35 wouldn't push the brick shaped e30 to 260, and especially not in 4th!!
I agree with everyone else, he's not doing 260 just by looking out the front window.
Maybe the e30 diff speed sensor uses more pulses per axle revolution then an e34 speed sensor. Which is why it's throwing off the speedo so much.

I am not sure about this one Thin, but there was an e30 in Sweden turbocharged filling the clock in no time. You did not have to question the cars speed because thay did film both onboard and outside footage.
True about the differences in diff pickup pulses between the e34 and e30.
I had the video clip on my PC but I had a surge lately and sent the HDD for data recovery. That one in Sweden was definitely filling the clock.

It's listed as having a 3.25:1 diff. That's not even capable of 260 in 5th at redline. At the indicated 5200rpm in 5th he's at about 185km/h.

You are right Thin, damn, back to the drawing board High speeds are cool, but man can it cost you, better for track. I am excited how the m30 will perform with the turbo in my e30 though, should be fun.

No it's not.
I would like to know which intake it is. It looks as though it has a better flow and I would love to use that one.
