1996 BMW 318Ti..any comments?..
There is someone I know selling a 200,000km very good condition BMW 318Ti...well maintained and has some comestic improvements like larger rims and sports springs..body looks mint and interiors is clean...anyone every own one of the BMW hatches before, and if so what is their experience with them?..high maintance,rusting,etc,etc???...its a car I need for a everyday car not a "bling car"..something good for everyday city commutes in style ...asking $4600 with e tested and certification.

I think 96 has the M44 (1.9L) motor instead of the M42(1.8L), both are good motors.
also the Ti has the older E30 suspension, I think this is good.
Apparantly all other E36's with newer rear suspenion can have "issues".
ask the guy if he wants a 95 Jetta 2.8L 6cyl for trade??

My 95 has never let me down
Had some to change some stuff like the A/C compressor ($$$), brakes, front ball joints, thermostat, clutch ($$$) and rear shock mounts
But none of these things needing changing are surprising with a 10 year old car.
Fuel economy is great too.

Daytona:
I've had a '95 318ti Club Sport since January 2001. She recently died at 384,000 km. A wonderful car, and believe me with a new engine, preferably a 6, she'll be wonderful again.
cheers,
Nikijack

1300 sounds about right. I pay 1500 for two drivers.
They are pretty reliable cars. One of mine has 240 clicks and is still going strong. Great gas mileage(~600-700 highway km per tank).
If you don't take it to the dealer for maintenance then maintenance is pretty cheap too.
BTW which model is the car? Base or Active?

Kirasir its the sport model...the paint looks great, the interior shows normal usage, air blow cold, bascially the only upgrade I see is larger rims(BBS imitations) and upgraded springs...the car is very tight,no rattles,no wind noise..Im going to let my mechanic go and check her out and see if there is any hidden issues.Hows this car in winter...I always drove FWD cars...I am going to slap on Nokian Hakka snows on them if I buy this car but just as a thought maybe owners can provide their experience with this RWD in the snow...
