I believe the 850 had a V12 engine that was different than the one in the 750 and since these engines are obsolete it means $$$$$$$$ in repair costs!

The 840i, by it self was in the 100g range, btw.

That 850CSi, is technically a M8. It has a S70 engine, that car is priceless itself, in the future it will only go up in value.

I can't believe more people don't buy these cars.

I have owned 3 of them, and love them to death.

There is no other car out there for the money (20k) that gets the kind of attention these things do. I used to park next to a Bently GT and Aston Martin Vantage at work. I could see from my office that way more people used to stop and walk around my car those either one of those two combined.

They have a completely unwarranted reputation as being problematic.
They did have electrical problems when they first came out but the majority of those were fixed under warranty and aren't really an issue anymore.
I have never really had a single issue with any of mine.. as long as you avoid a neglected one you should be fine.

Just remember that they are not sports cars, they are grand touring cars made to comfortably cover continents in a single day.
