Shift Knob

Hey, this might be a dumb question, but how do you remove the shift knob? I got a new one which i want to put on, but cant seem to get the old one off. I read the bently manual where it explains how to do it, but i cant seem to get it off. Is there any tricks to doing the replacement??

4th gear, sit in back seat, pull hard.

Any man that has gone through puberty should be up to the task of yanking it off.

THANKS! i thought in the bently manual it said to put the car in reverse. but if 4th works, i'll try that. Do you just need to pull it off, no twisting is nessecary?

My old one was so worn that you could remove it with your thumb and pinky. When they are fresh they stick like nothing else though.

Wrap some hockey tape around the shaft then force it back on. Works great for mine.
