Get an Hp from Costco.....(cheap and they work great)......unless you need legal size then you'll need to go to a puter store

most scanners are in that price range now, they are all dirt cheap, just look for a color scanner with high DPI

OPP switched to a new digital signal last year, your average police scanner won't pick it up

Fixed the topic.

Grab the HP ScanJet 4890 Photo Scanner, or Epson Perfection 4490.
Both of these are hi-speed capabale of 4800 x 9600 dpi, and within your price range.

Do you only need a scanner?

It may be a good time to upgrade your printer to an all-in-one.

Unless you already have a recently purchased printer, but if yours is a few years old, i do recommend getting a new one.

As long as it's not an "important" document, I use a digital camera. There are some trix to avoid the glare from the flash and other odd reflections, but it works pretty good.

Anyway - if someone needs the OTHER scanner, I bought this one

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...%3AMERFB%3AIID

Very basic, but does the trick.
