No shit. I have 225's front, and 245's rear. No gay looking "flairs" either.

Alex on r3v runs what, 305's all around? With very massaged stock fenders?

You don't need a widebody kit to stuff big tires under an e30. Look on e30.de, half those guys are running 8"+ rears. You just need to find rims with the proper offset. Then you can roll the hell out of your stock fenders.

Offset won't help you though, as I have a completely different suspension.

Alex is not running 305's.
Garrick was running 285's on 18x10 ET47 wheels with 60mm spacers. He also had ~6in flairs off the fenders.

The only e30 I know of in the country running 305's is Akard's.
305 R compounds. A couple weeks ago he sheered all 5 lugs off. Lateral grip exceeded the holding power of 5x 10.8 grade studs? Hah.
These are racecars we are talking about though. Not daily driven cars with neat motors. A good set of 225's is more then enough on a e30.

Thats intense. I wonder what would have happened if the lugs didn't sheer?

I imagine it might have cornered slightly better.
Here is a recent picture of Akards car taken at Texas World Speedway. I'm not sure if this picture shows the car wearing 305's or not, but by the looks of it... I'd guess yes.

Not much of a looker, but that car is all business.
Also, I think I read somewhere that the reason for failed lugs was due to lack of hubcentric rings. Apparently someone forgot to install them.

Car looks like ass, but with a euro S50B32 under the hood... hard to complain. I believe he is making 380hp or so.
The uninstalled hubcentering ring without a doubt had something to do with it.

Well, remember the video of that one e30 that almost tipped in the auto cross? I don't think it was running 305's I was imagining a similar scenario.

That was Alex's car. Pretty normal for him.
Stiff suspension, wide R compounds, not hard to lift the outside 2 wheels.

Dave, in that video Alex was only running 245/45/16 Ho-ho's, on 16x9 Brock B1s. Just a really stiff suspension and complex transition in the course.
To the poster, you can jam 225-245 tires at all four corners, just make sure you have a real suspension (coilovers, preferably) and I can help with the wheel choice. Contrary to popular belief there are more than a few wide 4x100 wheels in the right offset.
On the other hand, you should consider a 5-lug swap, just for the brakes. If you're really going to be making 240hp you'll want something more than the stock hardware.
