a) fix the problem
b) reset the check engine light
c) remove the bulb

i lke option 3.

dunno if u can reset it with a PIn on the e36's. u might need some sort of Module to reset it.

Justin, its pretty illeagal to remove the bulb.

I suggest just slab a bunch of oil on the bulb. (like oil from your hands is fine)

bulb will burn out very soon

Don't reset it man, get the problem fixed... it might just be the O2 sensor, you change it and just like that the light turns off. That's how it worked for me anyway.

Part of the resetting process is to scan the codes for the CEL. This way, at least he'll know what the issue is. No guessing.
