Pocket PC-What do you use yours for ?

I am thinking about getting a Pocket PC like this:http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

1. If you have one do you find it very useful ?
2. What do you use yours for ?

Yes fell free to bid as it is eBay & no it is not mine, i just looked around & athis seems like a good deal.

Been using these handhelds since the beginning of time, and little by little used it for less and less. Now I just have an old Palm m505... it gets very little use. Only used for:

1) phone numbers
2) mapquest directions

I have an old iPAQ (2210), I dont' use it much...just use the calendar to throw in my appointments, use some mapping software to map addresses when I do deliveries, use "listpro" to have some checklist of things I need to do etc, and well games when I can't sleep on something

Used to use it for MP3s and shit, but don't bother anymore...I'm not the type who's a music whore that has to have headphones in my ears 24/7. If I'm driving I have music in the car anyways, and if I'm walking/subwaying I just don't listen to music, it's a short trip anyways. Besides, all my music would get too old if I was listing to it 24/7.

I have a 2200, I use it constantly, either to combat bordom, as a music player, both personal and in my car.

I use the contacts and calander the most I find though, as well as mapping. I've still been looking for somewhere locally to find a iPAQ to serial (DB9) adapter so I can hook up my GPS/phone to it.

i use a Mobilepro 780 for tasks and taking notes in class.. i had mine painted white so it's not the same as the one pictured here.

as you can see it's a fair bit larger than a palm but it has a decent keyboard, can run NetBSD, has a CF slot (which allows for movies and mp3s) and can run a wireless card. it also has a 7 hour battery life, all this for $215CDN shipped. it's 6 years old but does the job.. i mean, i can even run nmap and other fun programs on it.

well have had my palm1 tungsten e2 for about 2-3 weeks now.....

At home there isnt much use for it. But since I spent at least 1 hour and 20 minutes on the TTC per day its proven quite usefull

I use it for:
Ebooks
Reading pdf notes
contacts
pissing people off with bluetooth in lectures by sending them shit
playing solitaire/any other game i have on it.

as soon as i get an SD card ill be : watching divx/xvid movies on it
listening to mp3s with it.

if i get a bluetooth enabled ruetur ill use it at home to surf the web while im infront of the tv hahhaha

oh yeah and if i can get my hands on it: IR controller, make the PDA act like a remote control for stereo/tv, and the what not.

also plan on getting some map software for it.. that be useful in the car

I have an ASUS A730W which I upgraded from an A716.

I modified the battery so I could get runtimes in excess of 14 hours.

I use my PDA for tracking my appointments and giving me reminders for both business and personal. I track all my personal finances with it. I use Mapopolis for GPS and mapping/directions (I have all of North America on my PDA). I play games on it (not too many... currently playing DOTT using SCUMM VM since it has been around 10 years since I played that game!). I also use it to watch DVD's I have downsized to fit (perfect quality/sound), and I hold some MP3's which I occasionally play via FM transmitter through my car stereo. The list of what I do with my PDA is much longer - it is an indispensable tool in my daily life! It has helped me become a much more organized person (my wife calls it OCD).

ASUS A730W
2900mAh Battery Mod
4GB Kingston Elite CF Memory Card
1GB Kingston HS SD Memory Card
All the accessories from ASUS
Extra cradle, charger, battery.

Now if it could only play CS:S!
