BMW M & MB AMG: The Future...

BMW M's Ulrich Bruhnke reveals:

- "We won't do an M7."

- Turbocharging M engines not ruled out for the future, but "I can assure you that a supercharged BMW won't happen."

- M5 wagon probably this year.

- 2006 = M Roadster and Coupe. 370HP.

- 2007 = M3. 4.4L V8, 425 HP.

- 2008 = M3 CSL.

- ~2008-2011 = "M1" based on the 1-Series. 340HP.

- Next Summer = M6 CSL. Lightweight, 550 HP, 5.5L V10.

AMG's Wolf Zimmermann reveals:

- New M156 V8 will appear next year in the ML63, CLK63, E63 and R63. As mentioned on this Board: 6.2L V8, 503HP and 465TQ.

- "Having said that, we will employ turbocharging, primarily at the top-end of the performance end of the spectrum."

- Two turbocharged iterations of the V8 are on their way:
* A "relatively modest boost" to 563HP and 664TQ
* A "mighty mauler provisionally rated at" 697HP and 886TQ

- "The only evolution for the normally aspirated unit is an increase in displacement to 6.8L, which is a legendary number for AMG, dating back to the company's successful sedan-racing origins."

Why bmw says no to supercharger?? on a production car, supercharger is much better IMO.

M3 with 4.4l engine??? I dont think so, its prolly gonna be 4.0l like most people think. V8 version of M5 engine.

M1??? Definitly not gonna happen, M2 is the only way to go for them. M1 was an exotic, dont think they gonna make M1 into an economical M now.

They are 510 in europe here they are 503 SAE hp

Some people say new M roadster gonna get an updated S54 engine with a slight HP bump

BMW has already officially released the spec for the Z4 M Roadster. And it has the engine from E46 M3 with 333bhp (US-spec)/ 343bhp (Euro-spec) most likely without any significant mechanical difference.

However, since Z4 M Coupe will be made solely to piss Porsche off with its Gayman S, and because Gayman has few extra horses over Boxter S. I guess it isn't unreasonable to expect Z4 M Coupe to have more power than Z4 M Roadster. I think 360 bhp sounds just about right!
