Body shop Pictures

Went to the body shop today to check out progress on the car. Should have it back in a week or two. Picture quality is suspect, it was pouring this morning and I guess the camera lens go wet. Just for the record, it's not a bondo job, new metal has been welded in but mud has been added to smooth things out.

Rear driver's side quarter had major rust which is now repaired. This was in fact the area of the car that pissed me off so much I decided to do the restoration.

looks aight John.... I went there with Rich about a week after you dropped your car there... I chatted with Gino for a min or so... something I didnt like... dunno what it was.. his work, shop i dunno.... bottom line, I am not gonna be bringing my car there....

If your car turns out great, I might consider going there... but until then, Nope. I wish you good luck when your car is done from the paint shop. Hope it turns out great to your liking. Cheers John

Not sure what you're on about but I went to check on the car today and they were doing the final sanding. Will be ready next week. I thought it looked O.K. It's not going to be an 'effing show car ya know.

The work looks pretty good in the pictures, granted it's not done yet.

jm... you might as well turn this into a show car once it's fully restored.

I like seeing stuff like this.. but you should acid dip the entire car !
If you're gonna restore it, might as well do it properly.. This way you get rif of all the corrosian ! I wouldnt want to restore an old classic using body filler !

Buddy

This is not a bondo job. New metal has been welded into the body, the bondo you see is only to smooth the joints prior to paint. As for acid dipping, yeah that would be ideal but the car didn't have any major rust and will never be a garage queen. I'm fixing the major stuff so I can drive it.

I still would've acid dipped the chassis..Either go big or go home.
It would have costed an extra $3000, but well worth it even after when you sell it..if you decide to.

$2K but there wasn't any serious rust on my car. I'm picking it up next Tuesday and will post pictures if I have time.
