How to tell if lacoste is real.

A)
DEVALNAY TAG, in LEFT seam (like left side when you're wearing the shirt. Should look like this)

The lacoste aligator should look like this. NOTICE: PIC IS DARK. Lacoste from other markets (thailand) have darker aligators on them.

Also, real shirts for the north american market are ALL made in peru. there are NO exceptions to this

the tag should look like this (notice red box around where it says peru. (box is drawn on, isn't accually on label)

And the buttons are mother of pearl. They're accually a little whiter than this:

Shirts that havea ny deveations from this are likely for other markets (such as asia). If you want real lacoste, either make sure it looks exactly like this, or just buy it from the store.

I haven't seen BM4ever's shirts, but if they look exactly like this, then they're real

The shirts had all the above including made in Peru Designed in France except they have the lacoste inprinted on the buttons... However, I have a sweater bought a while back in the store and it dosen't have the lacoste inprinted.

But my lacoste golf shirt that I bought from sherway does...

It seems like some have it some don't OR the golf shirts do but long sleves don't...
Regardless I have compared it to the one I bought at the store and they were exactly the same. The supplier I get them from sells to most of the store in T.O...
For those who are interested I will be getting more later this week hopefully...

My lacoste golf shirt is different for yours and purchased in Montreal at Lacoste store during the summer. Mine was made in Morroco. No Devenlay tag just say Designed in France made in Morroco on lower left part of the shirt. Has two mother of peral buttons and the tag on the neck just says lacoste with a small 5 in the corner. So I'm geussing there is some variation from what you said.

is your shirt from montreal that says made in morroco a striped shirt?
if so, than it's still authentic.

real lacoste short sleeve plain polos will NOT say lacoste on the button, a trademark of lacoste are their pearl buttons.

BM4Ever, you're saying you got a plain short-sleeve polo lacoste from sherway's lacoste store and it has LACOSTE on the buttons?

Let me somewhat retract my not buying items that are not "real", I guess if its regarding clothes if the quality of the replica is just as good as the real things I would accept the savings and buy them, but when it comes to statis symbols like LV and Rolexes I would be somewhat ashame to pass those items as authentic.anyways the man is trying to sell his Lacoste shirts,if it is a fake then his reputation on this forum is shot,if its real then you guys are getting a great deal...

What chia said is true. if the shirt is anything other than LACOSTE CLASSIC, aka 1 colour, it may be made somewhere else.

the little number in the corner,(3,4,5 up to 9) is the size

With all this conjecture, why doesn't someone just call the manufacturer and find out for sure?
