i used to smoke here and there and at one point I just stopped. it really just comes down to your level of care about your health. i know that for me, i just decided i don't want to be a smoker from this point on. it wasn't about smoking that last pack before going cold turkey. i didn't take that "last supper" approach bullshit. you either want it or you don't.

also, if you don't feel 100% ready, don't quit. wait for the right time instead. if you keep quitting and failing, it'll be much harder to get yourself motivated again and again.

good luck.

ps. remember me?

i think i remember bumming a smoke off you a really long time ago when you came out with your brother. Your car is red, right? I forgot your name (i'm ivan).

I'm definately ready. I've been ready for a while, its just hard to accomplish anything when you're spending most of your time partying and pretending to go to classes.

Atta boy. One my close friends here needed an intervention, he's been clean for a month now. I can imagine how tough it must be. On the plus side, your wallet must be appreciating it!

I haven't smoked cigarettes in a few years now. When I quit, I just knew that i was the right time to stop.

A) Felt lethargic, B) Getting older C) Poor conditioning amongst other personal reasons aswell.

I think that a proper workout routine, some cardio and eating healthy will motivate anyone to firm up a non-smoking lifestyle.

Cold turkey is the way

Anuk,

I bought cartons at the border duty free, so in my time as a smoker the prices went from 22$ a box to 35$ a box, so that's still under 4$ a pack. Still, i'm sure it added up.

My favourite part of being a non-smoker is not smelling like stale cigarettes all the time. (Now i just smell like sour mash)

full-marathons are too strenuous. besides you can get a heart attack, not to mention joint problems later in life
