Java has no direct notion of pointers/memory references, so it's not a language either?

All the things on that list are "programming languages" because you can write statements, following the language grammar, that are can be compiled into executable code. I think they meant "high level programming language". Assembly isn't REALLY a language... it's just an abstraction of the binary operations/operands, you do not need to compile assembly, it translates into binary directly.

HAHAHA!

BigD is CORRECT - Assembly, although LABELLED a language by nerds and geeks back in the day, is in fact NOT A PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE.

I think I still have a basic wordprocessor program I wrote in ASM for CP/M back when I was in grade 10. I may even have it on 360K 5.25" Floppy!

NERDS!

2% scored higher (more nerdy), and
98% scored lower (less nerdy).

What does this mean? Your nerdiness is:

All hail the monstrous nerd. You are by far the SUPREME NERD GOD!!!

frankly i think this is a bit bias towards people who are math nerds, there are several more on that site that are more for computer nerds, star trek nerds. and so on.
