Don't forget the given readings are also just peak hp. Torque is what really matters, and how it is spread over the rev range.

I saw the HP fibbings, but they were only off at most 10 hp. These cars still have at least a 30-60hp advantage. 10hp isn't enough to explain it.

Sebby, yeah, the torque and weight, that's true.

well that one's easy, STI is lighter and makes up for it in torque (300 vs 269)

Look at the 0-100 comparisons for the STi and m3.. Sti blows the doors off of it

that's true too. Forgot about that.

I just looked up the weights.

E46 M3 is 3415lbs
STI is 3298lbs

Thats only a little over 100 lbs.

Must be the gearing. Must be the gearing.

I'm pretty sure E36 M3 will beat a stock Type R. My friend's 2005 RSX S is faster than a Type R, and its more or less on par with an E36 M3.

That would be a better race actually. RSX S vs E36 M3.

I agree with gamite, like my buddy has a E30 M3, with some mods but nothing major, and at a light he took a guy in a RSX S, not by much, like the type S is a very fast car but his M3 still had him, so to hear ppl say a Type R will take a E36 M3, I just cant buy into it, would have to see it to beleive.

no need to wonder, i races a few rsx type s's in my 330ci and i won, don't even mention rx8, they are slow as sh!t unless you dump clutch at 8000 rpm... and thats in 330, e36 m3 is faster then 330... 225 vs 240 hp

and umm erikIS, sti doesn't blow any doors off m3, sti vs m3 0-60 is close, but after that e46 m3 will pull on sti big time in top end... also stop telling every1 your ri!ce burner took out m3, comon man you a joke...

ok im done

And trust me, i can launch a FWD.. i get 2.1 2.2' 60'

I call major bullshit on that one, I raced Type R myself
My car was completely stock at that time, and I had 4 passangers in my car(total 5 people), raced it against Type R with CAI and just a driver.
We were dead even until about 190, then I in 5th and I slowly started pulling away. We both cut it off shortly after that. And yes I know he was racing, we stopped and talked about it.

So I dunno what m3s your friends got, or how stock your integra really is.

P.S. M3 is 3200 pounds, IS350 is 3500
P.P.S. 95 m3s run about 14.5 due to longer gearing, less torque

Tell it to the Chris (ChromeM3) owner, him and Danny(Rolled_Out) went to the local Subaru meet. Stock to Stock, they owned every STI
look it up there is a post in Need for Speed section.
