E90 3.0i into an E36?

Anyone know if someone has dumped an E90 3.0 engine into an E36 yet?

doubt it... it JUST came out.... and the price of the engine, wouldn't be worth the swap.... it'd be cheaper to swap a rebuilt S50/52 motor into a e36!

You'll probably need the transmission as well... not sure if the old ZF has the same bell housing.

Otherwise the engine will bolt right on. Your problems will be electrical. Its much easier, faster and cheaper to install an S50/S52 engine. But if money isn't an object then yes, its doable...

Electrically wise you will need the ECU, the matchng EWS, engine key and engine harness...

Thought so... its just not practical, even if the engine was dirt cheap!
