I was in court on the 24th of October., about a week ago
No cops showed up...and ppl were still pleading guilty to reduced fines.
My ticket got dropped when i pled not guilty.
I dont know if I was just lucky or what. I did see some cops, just none in my court room.

well i just spoke to a cop that was sleeping behind my work and i told him its to early to fall asleep,he told me he has nothing better to do since the strike and he cant give out tickets because if he hands anyone out that means the government will be making money,as for pulling anyone over most of them are not bothering with it since they are only attending 911calls.

That's what i figured. Just out of curiosity, how fast do you guys usually go on the 401? i usually drive either 129 or 139. 140 and up the fees are CRAZY

let them go ahead of you by 10 or 20 sec, then if theres a cop, hell pull out behind the guy infront of you, and youre saved BTW was the speedtrap after spadina, heading east, by about the ACC where they hide on the right in that thing that looks like an old lane or watever

on the 401 between Suaga and pickering.......there is almost no chance of getting pulled over, you'd have to be really dumb to get pulled over along that stretch

By the time you get a court date approx 8-9 months from now, they should have made a deal. Either way, I would suggest to fight it.
Going to Ottawa/Montreal, the really empty parts of the highway(416/417 as well as the 40), you could hit 180, and there wont be a cop for miles, once the roads start lighting up, or becoming more congested, I would keep it under 120. Stuck to that plan over last weekend when I was travelling those routes, and had no problems. 401 is one of the worst highways to speed on, because cops are so random, that you can never predict when they will be on. Plus they are OPP, which arent afraid of slapping huge tickets and making them stick. My advice, is give yourself extra time, and dont "plan" on speeding, but if the situation and the occasion arise, then thats a different story.
Trust me, even 3 points on your license, will increase you premiums.
