Repairing heated seats

Hey,

I have E36 heated seats and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get replacement heater elements cheap....the ones from the dealer are crazy expensive.

Thanks

Better off looking for new/used seats. Check the FS section, theres always seats passing through there.

Both driver and passengers seats don't work bottom and top ...is this common for them to both completely die? Power comes on to switches fine light up on all settings but zero heat. Put meter on seats everytime lead touches the wiring it turns the switch off....but reads power when it touches? Is there something else I should check before I replace the elements or the seats?

is the fuse ok?
are the wires getting power?
are the wires plugged into the seats securely?

your best bet is to get some hacked up cloth seats and take the elements out of there, that's what I did.

Angelo G is selling a set of black seats (power and heated I believe) Pretty much mint condition and the price is great. Good guy to deal with.
