There are 3.0L and 3.2L US spec motors and 3.0L and 3.2L EURO motors

The U.S. spec 3.0 makes 225hp and the US spec 3.2 makes 240hp depending on the year

the EUROS are total different ball game. They have individual throttle bodies (6) and the 3.0L EURO makes 286hp and the 3.2L EURO makes 321hp. Hope this helps

Jazz it is the 3.2L

P.S. below is a pic of a EURO motor. If the motor dosent look like this then its not EURO

Did the 12K include install? Just looking for a ballpark figure on what exactly it would cost to do a euro swap (parts, install/labour etc.).

No that doesn't include the install. Install was extra but the motor had 30,000 miles on it. Still a baby but worth every penny. This thing does not know what stop means. You keep feeding it speed and it still pulls hard until the rpm run out. Its an incredible motor.

I would put aside about $16000 to do a swap for the motor pal. You will probably get something for your motor depending on condition and kilometer and something for your tranny and driveshaft so you can put that towards your swap but I a being generous with the amount because you have to do exhaust work to match up the headers and small thins that may pop up but might I suggest that you check Raven Performace and speak to John Dimoff. He is the man when it comes to this stuff.

Why do you say its weird. The Euro car is 300lbs lighter with a LSD diff. The 330ci had 3.15 but no LSD plus lighten flywheel and M5 clutch combo. Raced them many time and every time was the same. A loss for the 300ci so its not weird. Its fact. That euro would beat a E46 M3 as well.

Hi everybody

Well being the supercharged 330 that he raced I would like to clean up the story as he did not say the truth about some of it.

We did race about 7 times and 5 counted.

I would say that he got 3 of the 5 and thats only cause of the lsd NOT MOTER POWER,LOL

If I could keep the wheels on the floor then it would have been a different story. The moter produces 286bhp and 262T to the wheels so do the math.

As for the highway run well, yes I did beat him and no problems with the moter but the govener does restrict. But if he can't pass me or pull away from me and i'm hittin 219kms then slow down my friend you would need a army base to run them.

(HE GOT HALF THE BELT)

So to all you who have enjoyed the story thanks for reading.

P.S. I wouldn't say that all moter is the best way to go but spend half the money and get more power with FI. Well in less you like to change your engin three times (inside joke)

P.S

As for the euro m3 the moter is strong and can hold its own with my car on the go. But if I get a LSD then its all over for that little boy in the euro.

The car produces alot of toruqe which makes it very hard to hold it down. I wouldn't say that it is quicker of the line just better traction. Cause the more and more I played of the line the harder it was for him to get a better start.

I should have also put the stock rims back on instead of the 65lbs a rim (19" x 10 hamann's)

so go figure

As you can plainly see guys losers always have the full list of excuses when losing. Bottom line is with whatever he says witness will fully say that 4 out of those 5 races where won by the EURO M3 and also lets not forget the off the line roling start that was won off the line as well. If MR. 330ci had maybe saved his money instead of getting those 65lbs rim and spending it on a LSD then maybe he would have stood a chance. Also no dyno numbers are yet availible for the EURO M3 so I dont know what math you would do. The list he can generate will go on and on but bottom line is with his setup and euro he LOST 4-5 races plus the on the fly race. I will give him the highway yes but only by a hair. So now these numbers you can do the math with. 4-5 races won plus a rolling start equals 5-1 plus add the 330ci highway win(just barely) is 5-2. Who has the belt. This math was simple to do. EURO WINS !!
and as for the swap instead of force injection. Guys obviously this guy has the cash to do the swaps do u not think he would have done a turbo and ass raped him by now. Motor in his and my opinion are much better, more durable, race ready and obviously the winners choice and he holds the belt while MR. 330ci hold sand in his hands. 330ci never said he won. He said a bunch of excuse as to why he lost. Euro saying the EURO M3 won being there myself.

Yes by putting the stocks on then he would have said "OH I SPIN TO MUCH I HAVE NO GRIP" Yet another excuse. With a 10" rear tire if you can't hook it then damn you can never win.
Oh also this close friend of mine with the EURO spent $23000 on his car before all swaps he spent about $25000 on motor swaps in total to get where he is today so a total of $48,000. A 330ci cost $52,000 plus the $8000 for the blower is $70,000 plus another $10,000 or so for the cottage life (inside thing ). For $80,000 you think he would beat a EURO M3.

MAY THE EURO BE WITH YOU MY SON !!!!!!

I was always under the impression that a supercharged 330 is as fast if not faster than a e46 m3 (after reading posts from people on e46fanatics and rennsport) depending on which supercharger they have? So I agree with sickfinga that its kinda weird... not to say I don't believe the story or anything cause if he lost then he lost

330ci weight only 140lbs more than 328is(with stock engine)
2.8l engine weight 308lbs
3.2l eurospec weight around 345lbs

I dunno, but I hope you would agree with me that 6spd tranny weight more than 5spd. So lets just be modest and say it weight 10lbs more.

so 328is with his swap would be around 3190lbs

Stock 330ci is 3285lbs. Lets say supercharger added another 30lbs so 3315lbs

now lets see

317hp - 3190 - (euro engined 328) 10lb/hp
286rwhp(or around 335hp) - 3285lbs - (sc 330) 9.8lb/hp

So, power to weight ratio is pretty much the same, but now lets look at the torque.

euro engined 328 - 258lb/ft, so 12lb per lb/ft
330ci SC - 262lb/ft at the wheels which is about (306lb/ft) 10.7lb/ft.

330ci has an advatage here.

So that race should've been even, or 330ci slightly pulling away.

P.S. I know all this calcutalions wont change the outcome of the race, 330ci lost and its simple as that, but I'm surprised why it happened. I'm not doubting the outcome, I just find it a bit wierd.

P.P.S Stock 3.2l euro m3 WILL NOT beat stock E46 M3. Just go on any european BMW forum and ask. Maybe your buddy got more than just euro m3 engine? just like you got only 2.8l engine

P.P.P.S How much boost is 333ci running?

What do you mean by "just like you have a 2.8l engine" I would lose if I raced the 330ci in mine I know that. Whatever anyways the 330ci is running 6.5 lbs of boost though. No doubt its a quick car but he lost plain and simple. I wasn't pulling on him and he wasen't gaining on me no the less EURO wins and anytime you would like me to run a e46 M3 and prove you wrong bring on because look at a e46 broad and all the 330ci blown cars are beating the e46 M3.
