I am looking to get a set of BBS RG-F 16 x 7 ET35 wheels for my 86 E30 325. The tire size is 205/45R16. What do I need to fit them on my car? Thanks for your help.

Hey TC,

10mm spacers would be the right size, but 10mm are difficult to work with sometimes because it leaves you no room for the hub, which is about 10mm deep. Get a set of quality 12mm spacers and bolts (H&R are well proven) and you'll be good.

I'd go 15mm front 20mm rear. Still won't be close to rubbing, and will look great.

Thank you for the advice. I'll see what spacers and bolts are available.

I'm looking at some 15x8 ET20 rims. What size tires could I fit on these without rolling the fenders? Lowered on h&r race springs and billy sports.

205/55 max. Up to 225/50 with a rear fender roll.

So this might be a weird setup. I had the 14x6 bottlecaps on the car, and at my height the tires rubbed against the coils.

I had thick tires, I believe to be 185/70/14, something like that? Cant recall.

I have civic steelies which are 14x5.5" with 185/60/14 and it clears.

Im wondering, if I replace the bottlecaps with the same size tires as the civic would it fit with no rubbing?

Btw the civic wheels are on with a 12mm spacer.

What suspension? What offset are the civic wheels? Why not use the spacers with the bottlecaps?

Its on megan racing coils, pretty much all the way down, my new plan is to mount some 185/60/14 on the bottlecaps when I get them. 12mm spacers in the front.

Im just wondering if it will clear the coils without rubbing because my civic steelies that do clear have these specs: 14x5.5, 185/60/14.. not sure on the offset I think its +45? something like that..

question. I looked at the tire calc. and it didn't give me the answer

I previously had 215/45/17 on the car (e30 IX)
I now have 205/40/17
Whats the maximum tread width I can put on 7.5" wheels?

I found a great deal on starspecs but they're 235/40/17......too wide?

Cheers

Sorry man, too many variables to say. You'll have to try it out.

235/40 works, but your offset would have to be dead-on for it to work properly. On an iX, I'm not even sure exactly what that would be, but something like +30.

hey I own a 1991 E30 318i convertible I have a set of 16x7.5 et40 on original suspension set up so I'm not sure what size tires i can use. I don't plan on doing any major modifications like fender rolling but i do plan on maybe going to some JOM coilovers in the future.
So i was just wondering what size tires i can run.

Thanks,
Nylko

What would the dead on offset be to fit 235-40-17's all around on an ordinary 325is?.I'm pretty certain the car will be coming to visit you and your fender roller in the future.
