Yeah, 1" is fine. Just make sure it's E30-hubcentric. In the future with that spacer, 205/45/16 will fit better.

ok
so i have a 60/40 lower setup.
i also got 17 inch rims.
what would be a good size tire for this kind of setup.
i was running 205/40 in the front and 225/45 in the back last summer on stock height.
thank you!

Rob, your going to need 215/40s or something. I had 215/45s on the rear, with a moderate drop at the time, and the sidewall brushed the rear arch above the lip, mainly because of the offset.
Jay if you want to give your input, rim in question is 17x7 et18.

If you stick with 205/50/16, then you can get 5mm front and 10mm rear spacers without any fender worries. You could probably do 10/15, but you'd need to roll the fenders at that point.

Damn....
So 225/45/16s are a rare breed, aren't they? Talk about lack of selection!

Rare AND dying.
But, some of the BEST choices are available. BFG KDW2, Kumho SPT, Hankook R-S2, Falken FK-452, Toyo T1-R. I recommend all of these tires (not just any for everyone though, they vary greatly). The Kumho is great all around and a comparative bargain.

Looking at XXR 006 17x8 offset 25. According to the offset calculator it says that it will be 3mm closer to the inside and 23mm further to the outside. I'm thinking 215/40/17.
The car is dropped around 2". All I'm really worried about is clearance to the strut, and the calipers.
Any advice.

That offset and wheel size is PERFECT. You can run 235/40/17 all day on those, with just a minor rear fender roll.
Caliper clearance I can't predict, though.
