the proper tire size for our cars on a 16's wheel will be as follows,
195,55-16
205,50-16
215,45-16--> Perfect size but hard to find. so people tend to go with 225/50's.

yea the offset will determin wat size spacers to get and also how wide are the wheels?

So, I'm buying an E30 track car (325i) with a 4.10 diff, but I'd like to get a tall tire to put on the 14inch stock wheels. I've looked at 205/70R14 Sumitomo HTR200's. Will those fit on an E30 with the spec-E30 suspension? Thanks!

Oversized tires and E30s don't work well. You will start rubbing places you don't even know of.

I'm in the market for new tires for my rears, 225/40/16. I have the option to go with Falken 452 or going with Toyo T1-R again. I've heard they're pretty much like comparing coke and pepsi, it's just a matter of personal preferences. The Falken has higher threadwear.
