What if the dish were removed and replaced with a shallower ones to bring them back to an 8.5 or 8 inch, would be a better option?

Biggest Tire no rubbing: 17x7.5", et 21

Anyone running these sized wheels? What is the maximum width I can run on these without having to do a major fender overhaul. 215/40/17? Any bigger? A little rolling is ok.

Yes, making them 15x8 and running 205 tires will have a much better chance of fitting without rubbing.

Hey Rod,
215/40/17 if you just roll the fender lips. Kopi Alpinas are 17x7.5" ET20, guys with 215's usually need to do the rolling to solve rubbing issues.

So I've decided on 16x9 borbet T's et 15 for summer. Only question I have is if they're a direct bolt on. I know the e30 is hubcentric and I see a lot of people running these wheels so I assume one of our wheel guru's might know if the hub is the same size.

Not sure if those Borbets are hubcentric. Either way, it's not an issue as the shop would just use rings anyways.

Your bigger issue is that 16x9 ET15 wheels hit the front strut housings, at least on 51mm cars. The North American M10 318i has 45mm housings, no idea on whether they squeeze past those or if your car even has them. Just assume the worst, you will need 3mm spacers to mount the front wheels with 215 tires.

16x9's are available in 15, 25, 30, and 35 offset. Would either of these size's work to make it possible to run without a spacer?

Jay, would you happen to know the weight of these rims?

Nope, all of the other offsets will only require bigger spacers (and won't have as much lip).

Gleb, no weight data handy. I do know offhand that the 16x7.5" Type T is 19.5lbs, so figure something around 21lbs (rounded up).

What do you guys think of the Ronal R-38 - 16"

Or is the LS still best for Mtech II - E30's?

You need BBS RS or some other mesh style wheel.

Ryan, look into the 16x7 ET20 BBS RS replicas on eBay. Silver, gold, or black all with silver lips.
